If ever I see some odd dice, more often than not I’ll pick them up. It’s not like I need any more than I’ve already got… it’s kind of like a calling. To give these unloved oddities a good home.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that these latest rescue dice weren’t your common or garden D6s. They were both missing numbers 1 and 6. I’d browsed through enough dice emporiums to know that they must surely be average dice. These feature less of the extreme results and more of the intermediate numbers (that is 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5).

I didn’t as yet have any average dice in my burgeoning collection so I hastily liberated them from their dull and dusty lives in my local charity shop for the princely sum of 10 pence.

However on closer inspection I soon realised that they were not what I’d thought they were! Each die actually had the following numerical distribution: 2, 2, 3, 3, 4, 5. So they were weighted to be lower than average rollers. How odd!

I don’t have a clue what they were used for, or indeed what they could be used for, but I’d like to know and am open to any unusual ideas!
